The first eight thousand meters they will climb on June, 3rd of the same year, they saw only a big frozen lake and a huge impssable mountain wall. Annapurna was else where! From that day that wall has been called the Great Barrier. It demarcates the Annapurna range to the north and one of its highest peak is called Tilicho Peak . Its north-east ridge covered with snow majestically towers the high Kali Gandaki valley to the west and the Marshyangdi Valley to the east, while the hidden kingdom of Mustang lies just few miles to the north.
The route we follow will start from Jomsom and we will first trek up to the Dhampus Pass (5210m) in order to progressively well acclimatize. We retrace our steps down till Marpha before crossing the Kali Gandaki river to trek towards the base camp through the Mesokanto Pass at 5100 m (Tilicho pass) altitude.
