We start our first day's short trek from Beshisahar, turning right at the canal on the outskirts of the village and descending the narrow path to the Pam Khola. We then cross the stream and climb to the village of Denauti with its striking red-walled houses. From here we descend to the banks of the Marshyangdi Khola and then follow the trail through rice paddies and subtropical forests to the Gurungs village of Khudi, our first night stop.
Day 04
Trek to Bahun Dada (1310 meters), 5 hrs
During the trekking tour by this day, We pass a school and a forest nursery as the trail continues northwards up the Marsyangdi Valley. After crossing a suspension bridge at Bhulbule, the trail passes a cascading waterfall and as we traverse the rice terraces the views of Manaslu are magnificent. Following a gentle incline we come to the village of Ngadi with its shops and teahouses. From here, the trail continues to ascend towards Bahundanda. Bahundanda literally means "Hill of the Brahmins" and it is the most northerly Brahmin settlement in the Marsyangdi Valley. It is situated on a long ridge and we camp in terraced fields near the village.
Day 05
Trek to Chyamje (1430m) 6 to 6 ½ hours
Today, we will be leaving the lush rice paddies and the sub-tropical jungle, as we begin our ascent towards the village of Tal, nestled on a plateau. Taal means lake, but no lake can be found here, just the imprint it has left. The nights are already cooler and the vegetation begins to change. Due to the density of small villages in the area, we will have ample opportunity to meet the Nepalese at work and at play.
Day 06
Trek to Bagarchhap (2160m), 6 to 7 hours
While hiking to Bagarchhap we will pass the old village and its ruins, which were completely destroyed by a massive landslide less than ten years ago. A series of bridges allow us to cross the roaring Marshyangdi River, using the well-trodden paths of the porters and locals. Today’s hike is not for the faint hearted as several sections of the path allow for some rather impressive views down to the river.
