Wilderness Ganesh Himal Trek itinerary details

Our Ganesh himal trek is a classical trek itinerary compared to most walks in this region leading up to the glacier. The particular route is designed for World Explorer who wish to hike but are walking within a more relaxed manner than take a look at this itinerary.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu valley. Transfer to hotel

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, we will receive you with private vehicle and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu within B/B plan. Our representative will give you brief information about the Ganesh Himal trek.

Day 02: Drive Kathmandu to Betrawati, 6 hrs

You will drive north of Kathmandu via Trishuli Bazaar (Shopping center for local people, mix caste people from the different village. During the journey, you can pass famous hill station Kakani and Ranipauwa where you could see the Langtang Himalayan range in the close distance.

Day 03: Trek from Betrawati to Kispang (1,850m/ 6,050 feet): 6 hrs

Today our trail is uphills and we follow mostly the way gently up and we explore the local village and their tradition so on finally we will be in Kispang.

Day 04: Trek from Kispang to Thulo Chaur ( 2350m/7,685 feet): 5 hrs

Today our trek is really pleasant so gradually uphills. On the way, we will pass the Tamang village and their culture, some of the places we meet monastery and gorgeous natural waterfall and we stay in Thulo Chaur.

Day 05: Trek from Thulo Chaur – Gonga (3,000m/9,810 feet): 4 hrs

At the beginning uphill walk and gradual uphill through rhododendron forest which is the national flower of Nepal all the way to Gonga, which is our campsite. You could see Langtang Lirung and Gosainkunda mountain ranges from here.

Day 06: Trek over Sing La hill station top ridge (4,600m/15,042 feet) and Cherma (2900m/9,483 feet): 8 hrs

It would be long day to finish so this day also will interesting to see amazing mountain views with sunrise when we reach on the crown this is the highest pass in this trekking and us decent down to Cherma. A trek to cross over singla or Shing La pass (4400 meters) trekking is also very popular in this region.

Day 07: Trek from Cherma to Meyghang (2,300m / 7,521 feet): 6 hrs

On the way we follow the forest with juniper, pine trees and other many more. We meet the village with Tamang ethnic group with fabulous mountain views..

Day 08: Trek from Meyghang to Darkha, 7 hrs

Crossing landslide nearby Jharlang, you begin your trek through ascent path with views of Ganesh Himal with Manaslu, thick forest, mystical waterfall, farming terraces and villages Darkha is the first Brahmin village on this trek. From here you can enjoy the view of Aankhu stream at some distance.

Day 09: Trek from Darkhu to Khahare Bazaar: 6:30 hrs

The descend along the river bank until you reach Khahare, there is a big market at Khahare Bazaar with lodges, tea shops, big school, and other important buildings. This place is famous for the magnificent views of a farming terrace.

Day 10: Explore day at Khahare

There are many things to do for you today as there is school. You are welcome to visit the school and there is a river where we can go swimming & fishing. Also, we could explore the local market and their lifestyle.

Day 11: Drive from Khahare Bazaar to Kathmandu by bus: 8 hrs

The road till Dhading Bensi moves through unpaved road and then you drive along the well-paved road until you reach Kathmandu It can be best defined as scenic journey due to the beautiful views of rivers, hills, terraces, forests, and villages.

Day 12: Drive back to Kathmandu with same road

After breakfast, catch a coach to return Kathmandu valley. After reaching in Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel. In the late afternoon, you can stroll around Thamel, the major tourist destination of Kathmandu. You can do some last-minute shopping for souvenirs for your family and relatives

Day 13: Final departure day

Drop you in Kathmandu International Airport onward your final destination and our trip ends. Wish you a wonderful journey!!!

Answer: Lodge trekking all the lodges they have a shower which you can get it somewhere paying and somewhere without paying however if you are in camping trekking – we provide you hot water bucket then you will take a bucket shower.

Answer: During the trekking route there are all places hotels and shops where you can able to buy mineral water and you can buy it for drinking but however we advise against buying mineral water in plastic bottles, as currently there are no provisions for disposing of these. Instead, we provide you with boiled water or bringing chlorine tablets to purify the normal water as the normal water is available in campsite/along the way.

Answer: During the lodge trekking there will be more chances to charge the battery. We recommend you bring an extra pair for in case. Remember to bring your own adapters!

Answer: When walking in the mountains, the distance you cover each day can vary greatly due to a gradient, terrain, and altitude. As such it is very hard to give specific distances on each day, however, you have to be prepared to walk roughly about 5 hours each day.

Answer: Walking pools are recommended but not compulsory.

Question: How much additional money do I need per day?

Answer: You can allocate US$ 08 – 10 for lunch/dinner in Kathmandu and it depends on your spending habits. US$ 7 to 10 US$ each day will be enough to buy bottles of water, chocolates, tea coffee, and some drinks while you are on trek.
