Langtang region trekking is located north of Kathmandu is curiously underrated and relatively uncrowded. As it has easy access from Kathmandu valley, the area in itself is a good choice especially for beginners who are travelling within limited amount of time. In five to ten days, one can visit Langtang area for trekking. Langtang region is mainly dominated by Langtang Lirung (7,244m), Langshisa Ri (6,810 m.), Gyanghempo (6,888 m.) Ganjala peak or nayakang la(6400m) and the view from Tschurkuri peak (5100m) offers an excellent view.
Perhaps first established as national park for Himalayan wildlife, Langtang National Park is criss-crossed with hiking and trekking paths and mountaineering trails allowing visitors unparalleled accessibility. You will often see musk deer (Moschus chrysogaster) and Himalayan Tahr (Hemitragus jemlahicus), Himalayan black beer (selenarctos thibetanus), snow leopard (panthera uncia), wild god (cuon alpinus), ghoral (Nemorhedus goral) serow (capricornis sumantrenis) and more than 250 species of birds. The park is also renowned for its population of red panda (Ailurus fulgens).

When to visit ?
Autumn (mid Sept to mid Dec) and Spring(March to May) are the best time to explore this Langtang valley trekking. The weather is sunny and warm, with outstanding views but the nights are little cold. Winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) is also good for Langtang valley trek although it will be little colder.
