Everest Base Camp Trekking itinerray

Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu Airport. Transfer to hotel

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our airport representative or the agency owner, Mr. Ammar Raj Guni. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel in the Kathmandu Valley by a private vehicle.

After enjoying a refreshing welcome drink, you’ll check into your room and receive a short briefing about your upcoming travel itinerary. If you’re feeling energized, you’re welcome to take a relaxed walk and explore some of the nearby highlights of the city.

Day 02 Fly to Lukla & Trek to Phakding (2,610m), 4 to 5 hours.

Take an early morning scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840m), the gateway to Everest. Begin your trek with a gentle descent through pine forests and Sherpa villages to reach Phakding lodges.

Day 03Phakding to Namche Bazaar trek (3,550m/11,644 Feet), 5 hours.

Trek along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges including the iconic Hillary Bridge. After a steep ascent through Sagarmatha National Park, arrive at the vibrant trading town of Namche Bazaar.

Namche bazaar Day 04 Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar.

Take a short hike to Everest View Hotel (HEV)or the Sherpa museum for stunning mountain views including Everest and Ama Dablam. Spend the rest of the day exploring Namche, acclimatizing to the altitude.

Day 05Namche to Tengboche trek (3,870m/12,694 feet), 5 hours.

Walk along scenic ridgelines with dramatic views of the Himalayas. Reach Tengboche and visit its famous monastery, the spiritual center of the Khumbu region.

Tengboche Monastery Day 06 Tengboche to Dingboche Lodges trek (4,360m/14,305 feet), 6 hours.

Descend through rhododendron forests and cross the Imja Khola river before gradually ascending to the windswept village of Dingboche. Enjoy views of Island Peak and the Lhotse wall en route.

Day 07 Acclimatization Day at Dingboche.

Climb to Nangkartshang Hill (approx. 5,100m) for panoramic views of Makalu, Ama Dablam, and the surrounding peaks. Rest and adapt to the higher elevation in Dingboche.

Day 08 Dingaboche to Lobuche trekking (4,930m/16,170 Feet), 4 hours.

Ascend gradually through alpine meadows to Dughla and then climb steeply to the memorials of fallen climbers. Continue along glacial moraines to reach the remote settlement of Lobuche.

Continue your journey through towering Himalayan peaks, crossing rugged terrain scattered with glacial moraines and dramatic rocky landscapes. Lead this trail to Gorakshep, a remote settlement nestled in the shadow of Mount Everest, where trekkers can rest and recharge before making their final approach to Everest Base Camp.

From Gorakshep, the trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) is a thrilling yet demanding adventure, winding through rocky paths and crossing icy streams. Along the way, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking views of the Khumbu Glacier and surrounding snow-capped giants.

Upon arrival at EBC, you’ll be greeted by a sea of colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind, set against the majestic backdrop of Mount Everest. It’s a powerful moment of triumph and standing at the base of the world’s highest peak, surrounded by the overwhelming beauty of the Himalayas.

After soaking in the experience, trekkers return to Gorakshep, carrying with them unforgettable memories of a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in the heart of the Everest region.

Day 10Hike to Kala Pattar (5,545m/18,188 Feet), 3 hours. Return to Pheriche (4,311 m/14,144 Feet), 5 hours.

From Gorakshep, the trail ascends steeply to Kala Patthar, one of the most iconic viewpoints in the Everest region, offering an unrivaled panoramic view of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and other towering peaks nearby. Your hiking path to Kala Patthar winds through rocky terrain and rugged trails, demanding both stamina and determination. As trekkers climb higher, the thinning air adds an extra layer of challenge to the ascent.

Reaching the summit of Kala Patthar, trekkers are rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree view of the Himalayas, often bathed in golden hues at sunrise or sunset which is a moment of pure magic.

It’s an awe-inspiring and deeply moving experience, where the world’s highest peaks feel within arm’s reach. After taking in the majestic views, trekkers descend back to Gorakshep and continue their journey toward Pheriche along the same route used during the ascent.

everest reisen Day 11 Return to Tengboche Monastery (3,870m/12,694 Feet), 4 hours.

Pheriche, a picturesque Sherpa village in the Everest region, offers a peaceful resting point for trekkers on the way to or from Everest Base Camp. Nestled at an altitude of around 4,200 meters, it provides stunning views of towering peaks like Ama Dablam and Taboche.

At Pheriche village hosts a Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) aid post, offering valuable altitude sickness information and support. With cozy teahouses, warm hospitality, and a tranquil atmosphere, Pheriche is an ideal place to acclimatize and unwind.

From Pheriche to Tengboche descends gradually through alpine meadows and rhododendron forests, offering breathtaking views of Ama Dablam and the Imja Valley. As you approach Tengboche, the trail leads uphill to the famous Tengboche Monastery, set against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Everest and its surrounding peaks.

Day 12Tengboche to Joresalle trekking (2,950m/9,676 Feet), 6 hours.

You will have an unforgettable journey today through the breathtaking landscapes of the Everest region. Departing from Tengboche—home to the iconic Tengboche Monastery from where hikers descend along winding trails that pass through lush forests, traditional Sherpa villages, and cascading rivers.

Along the way, trekkers are treated to sweeping views of snow-capped peaks and verdant valleys, while encounters with grazing yaks, fluttering prayer flags, and gently spinning prayer wheels create a serene and spiritual ambiance.

Upon reaching Jorsale, travelers can unwind in the peaceful atmosphere of this quiet village, nestled in the heart of the Himalayas. It marks the end of a rewarding day’s trek and leaves lasting memories of a magical journey through one of Nepal’s most enchanting regions.

Day 13 Return to Lukla Bazaar .

Your footsteps to Lukla Airport today marks the final leg for many adventurers in the Everest region. From Jorsale, trekkers follow a well-worn trail that winds through charming Sherpa villages, terraced fields, and lush forests.

Along this journey has a glimpse into everyday Himalayan life, with cheerful Sherpa children playing and locals going about their daily routines. Upon reaching Lukla, trekkers can enjoy a well-earned rest, reflecting on their journey amid the stunning backdrop of the Himalayas.

With its cozy lodges, bustling markets, and vibrant energy, Lukla provides a fitting conclusion to an unforgettable trekking experience. As trekkers board their flight from Lukla Airport, they bid farewell to the mountains—carrying home cherished memories of their Himalayan adventure.

Day 14Return with a flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.

In the morning, trekkers board a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu, marking the end of their unforgettable Himalayan journey. Aboard a small aircraft, travelers soar above the majestic peaks of the Himalayas, catching final glimpses of Everest and its towering neighbors.

As the plane descends into the Kathmandu Valley, passengers are welcomed by the vibrant pulse of Nepal’s capital city. Upon landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, many reflect on the awe-inspiring adventure they’ve just completed among the highest mountains on Earth.

From here, trekkers can wander the bustling streets of Kathmandu, indulge in authentic Nepali cuisine, and immerse themselves in the city’s rich culture and history and before bidding farewell to the Himalayas and continuing their journey home. Trip finish

  • Gratuities for porters and guides (Tipping is a deeply rooted tradition and is expected).
  • Additional costs related to illness, emergency evacuation, or unforeseen circumstances.

Best time to hike to Everest base camp in Nepal

According to Gokyo Treks Nepal, the best months to trek to Everest Base Camp are during the pre-monsoon season (February, March, April, and May) and the post-monsoon season (late September, October, November, and December). While it is possible to undertake the trek in February or early September, the periods mentioned above are highly preferred for optimal weather conditions and better visibility.
