Renjo La Trek itinerary
Day 01Arrival in TIA Airport Kathmandu and Transfer to hotel.Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by our airport representative. You’ll be transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in the heart of the Kathmandu Valley.
After a warm welcome drink and hotel check in, we’ll review your trekking plans together. If time and energy allow, you’re welcome to take a short walk and explore the Kathmandu city area.
Day 02 Fly to Lukla Airport and trek to Tok Tok (2,820m/9,250 feet), 4 hours.A scenic 35 minutes morning flight takes you to Lukla Airport. From here, your trek begins with a gentle walk to the village of Tok Tok, following the Dudh Koshi River through picturesque Sherpa settlements.
Day 03Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,550m/11,644 feet), 4 hoursCross several suspension bridges and enter Sagarmatha National Park. A challenging uphill climb brings you to the vibrant Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Everest.
Day 04 Trek to Khumjung Village (3,780m/12,398 feet.), 2 hoursAfter a short climb to Syangboche airstrip, continue to Khumjung, one of the largest Sherpa villages. Visit the Hillary School and local monastery with views of Everest and Ama Dablam.
Day 05Trek to Thame Monastery (3,820m/12,530 feet), 4 hoursEnjoy a peaceful trail away from the main Everest route as you head to Thame, home to one of the oldest monasteries in the Khumbu region.
Day 06 Thame to Lungdeng lodge Trekking (4,500m/14,760 feet), 4 hoursClimb steadily through remote Sherpa villages and beautiful alpine scenery to reach Lungdeng, your base before crossing Renjo La.
Day 07Cross the Renjo la and descend to Gokyo Lakes (4790m/15,716 feet), 7 hours.Today is a highlight of this Renjola adventure trekking. Hike up to Renjo La Pass (5,360m) for a spectacular panoramic view of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu, then descend to the stunning Gokyo Lakes.
Day 08Hike to Gokyo Ri (5,357m/17,570 feet) or to 5th Lake, 6 hoursEarly morning climb to Gokyo Ri for a sunrise view over the Himalayan range. Afterward, continue your adventure with a visit to the remote 5th Lake, one of the most scenic in the region.
Day 09Traverse to Dole village (3,840m/12,595 feet), 7 hours.Descend along a scenic trail to the traditional Sherpa village of Dole, nestled on a hillside with dramatic views of the surrounding peaks.
Day 10 Trek to Tengboche Monastery (3,720m/12,2020 feet), 6 hoursTrek through forests and villages, passing Phortse, then continue to Tengboche, famous for its monastery and panoramic mountain backdrop.
Day 11 Traverse to Jor Sale (2,950m/9,676 feet), 6 hours.Begin your descent, retracing the path through Namche Bazaar and onwards to the peaceful riverside village of Jorsalle.
Day 12 Return to Lukla airport (2,860m/9,383 feet), 5 hoursFinal day of trekking leads you back to Lukla, where you’ll celebrate your successful trek with your guides and porters providing them good tip.
Day 13Fly out to Kathmandu.You’ll take a morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing afternoon or explore the city.
Day 14 See the sights in Kathamndu or Good bye Kathmandu.After breakfast, join an optional half-day Kathmandu Valley sightseeing tour (additional cost), visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). Later in the evening, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your international flight home. Farewell, Kathmandu!.

Alternatively, you can enjoy a scenic day hike from the Gokyo lodges to the 5th Gokyo Lake (Ngozumpa Tsho), one of the most breathtaking spots in the region. This lesser-traveled route offers unmatched views of Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Nuptse, and the sprawling Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas.
You hike to 5th Lake trail is relatively gentle, making it a perfect acclimatization hike with high rewards. After exploring the tranquil turquoise lake and its dramatic surroundings, you’ll return to your Gokyo resort for a restful evening.
