Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu valley. Transfer to hotel

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, we will receive you with private vehicle and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu with breakfast plan. Our representative will give you brief information about Tilman’s pass trek programs.

Day 02: World Heritage sites of Kathmandu Sightseeing, 6 hours.

In the morning after breakfast, we start our day trip visiting world heritage sites located in Kathmandu city which includes Boudhanath Stupa (also known as the oldest stupa of Nepal), Pashupatinath temple (holy temple of Hindu where the cremation takes place by the holy river Bagmati), Later we visit Kathmandu Durbar Square and Syambhunath Stupa.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Chautara (1,450m/4,742 feet), 6 hours Bus

After breakfast, we meet the crew and drive together to Chautara. Chautara is the headquarter of Sindupalchok district where we fix our camp tonight. From our campsite, you can relax and enjoy the stunning mountain views, or if you like to explore, you can gain some insight into the culture and daily life walking to Gidane village where we supported many projects after the earthquake disaster.

Day 04: Trek to Sano Okhareni (1,965m/6,426 feet), 5 hours

Our journey goes gradual uphill walking to reach Sano Okhareni. Our path passes through small villages where we can see how the diverse ethnic groups live side by side. We camp at Sano Okhareni near a pine forest and with great views to the mountains.

Day 05: Trek to Kami Kharka (2,810m/9,189 feet), 5 hours

We walk gradual uphill walking to Thulo Okhareni. From here we get into the steeper climb with some hours walking through stunning, dense Rhododendron and pine forest. If we are lucky and observant, we might spot some wild animals such as mountain deer or langur monkeys and Nepali birds danfe (Impheant pheasant). Tonight we camp on a summer pasture ground for nomadic cattle herders (kharka).

Day 06: Trek to Pauwa Bas (3,000m /9,810 feet), 6 hours

Today’s walk is nice and gentle, being fairly level and we can enjoy our forest trails and wildlife spotting. We walk through the lush forest of rhododendron, oak, pine, and juniper and we can see some nomad’s houses for cattle on the way. In Pauwa Bas there is a shelter for pilgrims to Panch Pokhari.

Day 07: Trek to Hille Bhanjyang (3400m/11,118 feet), 6 hours

This morning we have a steep uphill to get top. Now, we get our breath back on the steep downhill though as we descend for 90 minutes through the forest. We have some great mountain views on our way down into our camp at Hille Bhanjyang.

Day 08: Trek to Narsim Pati (3700m/12,099 feet), 4 hours

We take it easy on the steep uphill section to start the day, taking about an hour. Then we enjoy the gradual descent of about 3 hours through rocky hills and rhododendron forest into camp at Narsim Pati. There is a small rest house for pilgrims on their way to the holy site of Panch Pokhari and we have great mountain views from our campsite.

Day 09: Trek to Panch Pokhari (4100m/13,407 feet), 7 hours

Today we walk some hours of gradual ascent through rocky hills to reach our destination of Panch Pokhari. This stunning setting is a secluded pilgrimage site where the Janaipurnima festival is held in August. Many Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims visit this site each year and we can see two pilgrim houses and the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Day 10: Hiking around Panch Pokhari hilltop !

This morning we have an early start to catch a stunning sunrise over the mountains! We have about 1 ½ hour uphill to see the beautiful sight of the sun rising over the Himalayas and our panoramic view includes Mt.Dorje Lakpa, Jugal Himal Range, Rolwaling Range, and Langtang Range. After this incredible start to the morning, we head back down to Panch Pokhari to rest to reserve energy for next day trek.

Day 11: Panch Pokhari (4,074m) trek to Intermediary Camp (4,273m/ 14,015 feet), 4 hrs Day 12: Trek to Tin Pokhari (4,255m/13,957 feet), 4 hrs Day 13: Trek to High South Camp (4,867m /15,964 feet), 5 hrs Day 14: Trek to High North Camp (4,720m /15,482 feet) via Tilman pass (5,320m /17,450 ft), 8 hrs Day 15: High North Camp (4,720m) trek to Kyanjin Gomba (3,870m /12,655 feet), 7 hrs Day 16 : Day excursion at Kyanjin Gompa Village , 4 hours

After breakfast this morning we’ll leave the village and start our trek leisurely for around three to four hours to visit Kyanjing Gompa. From here we’ll also have beautiful views of Mt Ganchempo and Langtang Lirung. We’ll visit the surrounding area like Yak cheese Factory, Monastery and local houses as we relax for the evening at Guest House.

Day 17 : Trek to Lama Hotel village (2,470m/8,077 feet), 8 hours

Today, we walk all the way to Lama hotel. We have an easy downhill and pleasant walk through the rhododendron forest to Lama Hotel where we’ll rest for the night before continuing our journey tomorrow for the Thulo Syabru village.

Day 18 : Trek to Thulo Syabru village (2,250m /7,358 feet), 6 hours

Today our trail leads again through bamboo and rhododendron forest where we may see the local wild boar as well as other animal and birdlife on the route to Thulo Syabru. During the route we’ll have marvelous views of Mt Ganesh Himal, so close it seems like it’s beside us. Firstly easy down hill follows the river bank but last part steeply uphill for a couple of hours to get to the village.

Day 19 : Trek to Dhunche village (1,764m /5,768 feet), 6 hours

This morning after breakfast we’ll be ready for trek onward to Dhunche. This is quite a pleasant walk through the forested path and some old Tamang village’s takes to get 4-5 hrs. After arrival in Dhunche, the rest of the time explores the town which is the headquarters of Rasuwa district. This will be your last night with your trekking crew except for the trekking Guide. Trekking crew will organize a farewell ceremony, Nepali song and dance, staff members will be allowed to drink to join the party. You may want to try the local drink called “Rakshi”, please be aware; it does not taste good and is very strong.

Day 20 : Drive back to Kathmandu (BB), roughly 8 hours

Today we’ll have an early morning drive to Kathmandu. It will take roughly eight hours. We’ll reach Kathmandu late afternoon then enjoy our night at Thamel. Upon arrival, any hired gears will be collected and your international flight tickets will be distributed.

Day 21 : Final departure

Drop you in Kathmandu International Airport onward your final destination and our trip ends.

Answer: As you are doing camping trekking, we provide you hot water bucket then you will take a bucket shower.

Question: How do I get drinking water on Tilman pass trek?.

Answer: During Tilman pass trek route there are all places hotel and shops where you can able to buy mineral water and you can buy it for drinking but however we advise against buying mineral water in plastic bottles, as currently there are no provisions for disposing of these. Instead, we provide you chlorine tablets to purify the normal water as the normal water is available in campsite/along the way.

Question: Can I charge my digital camera or other batteries on my trip?.

Answer: During the tent trekking there will be very fewer chances to charge the battery. We recommend you bring an extra pair for in case. Remember to bring your own adapters.

Question: Is there any communication facilities on Tilman pass tent trekking?.

Answer: In this trekking route you can get telephone services as well as internet services as well.

Question: Can I use credit cards in Trekking?.

Answer: No! So, for the trekking routes, you need to have cash Nepali rupees because credit cards work only in the bigger city areas.

Question: When should I book my trip and what is the payments terms?.

Answer: Because our trips book up months in advance, we recommend booking early to avoid any kind of misunderstanding. We will, of course, make every effort to accommodate last minute bookings.

And regarding the deposit, we prefer 20% advance deposit of the total price of the trip in order to confirm your reservation before you arrive in Nepal. And the rest of the payment can be made after your arrival in Nepal.

Question: Who will carry my luggage on Tilman pass trek?.

Answer: We provide porters to transfer your luggage. As we are a responsible trekking tour operator agency, each of our porter carry the maximum of 25 kilos of your backpack which means 2 guests (12.5 kg luggage of each guest): 1 porter basis. However, Ganja la pass trek is a challenging trek so each of our porters can carry a maximum of 22 kg of your belongings. If you wish to have a private porter, you might also get it on paying an extra cost.

Question: How much distance do I walk each day?.

Answer: When walking in the mountains, the distance you cover each day can vary greatly due to a gradient, terrain, and altitude. As such it is very hard to give specific distances on each day, however, you have to be prepared to walk roughly about 5 hours each day.

Question: Do I need walking polls?.

Answer: Walking pools are recommended but not compulsory.

Question: How much additional money do I need per day?.

Answer: You can allocate US$ 08 – 10 for lunch/dinner in Kathmandu and it depends on your spending habits. US$ 7 to 10 US$ each day will be enough to buy bottles of water, chocolates, tea coffee, and some drinks while you are on trek.
