Salleri to EBC trek itinerary in details

Day 01Arrival in Kathmandu international airport and transfer to hotel.

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), our airport representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in the Kathmandu Valley by private vehicle. After a welcome drink and room check in, we’ll briefly discuss your trip to Everest Base Camp with a drive in plan. Prepare the hiking gears.

Day 02 Drive with a local Jeep to Salleri Bazzar (2,300m/7,521 Feet), 9 hours.

We begin early with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Salleri via a newly constructed blacktopped road. Its a long but rewarding journey offers stunning views of rivers, lush jungles, terraced hillsides, and scattered traditional villages. En route, we cross the Sunkoshi River and pass through Okhaldhunga. On a clear day, you may catch glimpses of snowcapped peaks like Mt. Everest, Numbur Himal (Dudh Kunda), and other Himalayan giants. The road gradually climbs to Salleri, the district headquarters of Solukhumbu.

Day 03 Drive with a local Jeep to Thamdanda (2,344m) and a trek to Paiya (2,700m/8,858 Feet), 6 hours.

After breakfast, you’ll take a rough but scenic jeep ride to Thamdanda, which takes about five hours. From there, we begin a gentle one-hour trek to Paiya through lush forests and traditional Sherpa villages. The trail offers peaceful nature and a warm introduction to the Everest region’s culture.

Day 04 Paiya to Monjo Village trek (2,630m/8,600 Feet), 6 hours.

Today’s trek from Paiya to Monjo is a beautiful 5 to 6-hour walk through dense forests, suspension bridges, and picturesque Sherpa settlements. As we gain elevation, you’ll enjoy mesmerizing views of the surrounding mountains. Before reaching Monjo, here is an official entry point to Sagarmatha National Park. This serene trails provide a perfect blend of nature and culture.

Day 05Monjo to Namche Bazaar trek (3,440m/11,290 Feet), 4 hours.

The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing multiple suspension bridges including the famous Hillary Bridge. A steady climb through pine forests and Sherpa hamlets gradually reveals panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Thamserku. After a final steep ascent, we arrive at vibrant Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region.

Day 06Rest day in Namche Bazar (3,440m/11,290 Feet)

Enjoy a short hike to Syangboche Hill and visit the famous Everest View Hotel for stunning panoramic mountain views, including Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, and Kongde Ri. On the return, stop by the National Park Museum to learn more about Sherpa culture and Himalayan history. Spend the evening relaxing and preparing for the higher-altitude journey ahead.

Day 07 Tengboche Monastery Trek (3,870m/12,694 Feet), 5 hours.

Today’s trek to Tengboche is scenic yet moderately challenging. The trail begins with a gradual climb, then descends to the Dudh Koshi River before ascending through lush rhododendron forests. Upon reaching Tengboche, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, and Nuptse, along with the serene spiritual ambiance of the famous Tengboche Monastery.

Day 08 Dingboche trekking (4,410m/14,469 Feet), 6 hours.

Begins you sootsteps with a descent to Deboche, followed by a crossing over the Imja Khola via a suspension bridge. From there, the trail ascends gradually past Pangboche village, where you’ll have a close-up views of Ama Dablam. As you gain altitude, the terrain becomes more alpine and rugged, eventually opening up to the vast valley of Dingboche, an ideal place for acclimatization.

Day 09Lobuche trekking (4,930m/16,170 Feet), 5 hours.

This segment of the trek takes you through high-altitude terrain with a steady uphill trail. You’ll pass Thukla Pass, where memorials to fallen climbers offer a poignant pause with dramatic mountain vistas. As you continue toward Lobuche, the landscape becomes harsher, surrounded by towering glaciers and snow-covered peaks.

Day 10 Trek to Gorakshep (5,164m/16,943 Feet) and a hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,598 feet), 6 hours.

Lobuche to Gorakshep leads through rocky moraines along the Khumbu Glacier, with breathtaking views of Nuptse, Pumori, and other Himalayan giants. After a short break in Gorakshep, you’ll push onward to Everest Base Camp which is a milestone achievement surrounded by stunning ice formations and towering peaks. After exploring the base camp, you return to Gorakshep for the night.

Day 11 Trek to Kalar Pattar (5,545m/18,188 Feet). Traverse to Pheriche (4,371m/14,341 Feet), 8 hours.

Begin your day early with a steep ascent to Kala Patthar, the best vantage point for sunrise views over Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. After soaking in the panoramic scenery, return to Gorakshep for breakfast. Began the long descent, passing through Lobuche and Dingboche, finally reaching the peaceful village of Pheriche village.

Day 12Traverse to Namche (3,440m/11,286 Feet), 7 hours.

Leaving Pheriche lodges trail descends through pine and rhododendron forests to Pangboche and Tengboche. You’ll revisit Tengboche Monastery and continue through beautiful Sherpa villages with striking views of Everest and Ama Dablam. After six to seven hours of trekking, you’ll arrive back in Namche Bazaar for a well rest.

Day 13 Namche to Lukla aiport trek (2,845m/9,334 Feet), 8 hours.

Today is the final trekking day as you descend from Namche to Lukla. You journey crosses multiple suspension bridges and winds through Phakding, Monjo, and forested landscapes. After around eight hours, you’ll arrive in Lukla, where you can relax and reflect on your unforgettable Everest journey.

Day 14Lukla to Manthali flight and drive to Kathmandu.

In an early morning, you’ll board a short flight from Lukla to Manthali, offering stunning aerial views of the Himalayan range. Upon arrival, a shared tourist vehicle will transfer you back to Kathmandu, a scenic drive of about five hours through the countryside. Your Everest trekking adventure officially concludes here.

Day 15 Seeing the sights in Kathmandu CITY and Good bye Kathmandu

After breakfast, enjoy a guided morning tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple)—both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Later in the evening, you’ll transfer to the airport for your return flight home, carrying memories of a lifetime.
