Langtang Gosaikunda & Helambu trek daily travel plan
Day 01 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/)Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our airport representative or the agency owner, Ammar Raj Guni, and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu Valley by private vehicle. After a welcome drink and check-in, we will briefly discuss your trekking program and important details. If time permits, you may take a short walk to explore the nearby local markets and vibrant streets of Kathmandu.
Day 02Drive to Syabrubesi (1,500m/4,921 feet), 7 HoursEarly in the morning, you depart from Kathmandu and drive along scenic mountain highways toward the Langtang region. Enjoy spectacular views of Ganesh Himal and even Mount Manaslu on clear days as you follow the Trishuli River valley. After lunch at Trishuli Bazaar, the road continues on a winding mountain track before reaching Syabrubesi for an overnight stay in a lodge.
Day 03Syaprubesi to Sherpa Gaon trekking (2,563m/8,409 feet), 5 hoursAscends gradually through lush forests, terraced fields, and traditional Tamang settlements. During spring, rhododendron forests bloom beautifully, creating colorful landscapes. Peaceful sounds of the Langtang Khola accompany you as you reach Sherpa Gaon, offering stunning mountain views.
Day 04Sherpa Gaon to Thangshyap trekking (3,120m/10,236 feet), 6 hours.Today’s trek takes you deeper into Langtang Valley through pine and rhododendron forests. You will cross clear mountain streams and pass ancient chortens and prayer flags along the way. Gradually, the valley opens to breathtaking Himalayan views before arriving at the peaceful village of Thangshyap.
Day 05Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,830m/12,566 feet), 5 hoursYou’ll continue through an alpine meadows and yak pastures with magnificent views of Langtang Lirung. As you gain altitude, glaciers and dramatic mountain scenery become more prominent. Upon arrival at Kyanjin Gompa, you can explore the ancient monastery and enjoy the serene Himalayan atmosphere.
Day 06Hike to Kyanjin Ridge (4,773m/15,660 feet) or Tserko Ri (5,033m/16,513 feet), 6-7 hoursThis is an optional acclimatization and exploration day. A hike to Kyanjin Ridge offers spectacular panoramic views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding glaciers. For a more challenging adventure, climb Tserko Ri for breathtaking 360 degree Himalayan vistas.
Day 07Trek Back to Lama Hotel (2,455m/8,054 feet), 6 hoursRetrace your steps through alpine landscapes and lush forests toward Lama Hotel, enjoying a different perspective of the valley during the descent. There may be chances to spot wildlife such as red pandas and Himalayan birds.
Day 08Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (1,900m/6,234 feet), 5 hoursDescend through dense forests before climbing uphill toward the traditional Tamang village of Thulo Syabru. It provides a beautiful views of surrounding hills and valleys. Overnight at a lodge with warm local hospitality.
Day 09Thulo Syapru to Cholang Pati (3,650m/11,975 feet), 6 hoursAscends steadily through oak, pine, and rhododendron forests and as elevation increases, vegetation becomes sparse and mountain views expand dramatically. Arrive at Cholang Pati has a peaceful alpine stop surrounded by open meadows.
Day 10 Cholang Pati to Gosaikunda Lakes (4,310m/14,141 feet), 3 hoursToday you trek through rugged alpine terrain toward the sacred Gosaikunda Lakes. Upon arrival, witness shimmering glacial lakes set against majestic Himalayan backdrops. Spend time exploring the sacred lake area and enjoying the tranquil spiritual ambiance.
Day 11Cross Lauribina La (4,630m/15,191 feet) and Trek to Ghopte (3,420m/11,221 feet), 7 hoursAscend to Lauribina la (Pass), the highest point of the trek, offering spectacular panoramic mountain views. After enjoying the summit scenery, descend along rocky trails into forested landscapes. Continue to Ghopte Lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 12 Tharepati (3,690m/12,106 feet) and Continue to Kutumsang (2,450m/8,038 feet), 7 hoursBegin with a gradual climb to Tharepati, offering stunning Himalayan panoramas. Descend through rhododendron and pine forests, passing small mountain villages. Arrive at Kutumsang and relax in the peaceful village environment.
Day 13Kutumsang to Chisopani trekking (2,165m/7,103 feet), 6 hoursWalk through the scenic forests and charming settlements enjoying an occasional ridge walks with impressive views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges. Reach Chisopani, known for its beautiful sunrise and mountain scenery.
Day 14Descend to Sundarijal (1,465m/4,806 feet) and Drive to Kathmandu city centerIts a final day of your journey so descend through Shivapuri National Park, rich in wildlife and natural beauty. From here your path leads to Sundarijal, a scenic water source area near Kathmandu. Finally, take a short drive back to your hotel in Kathmandu for a well rest.
